Baltimore deep sea Angling: Baltimore being the
southern tip of Ireland, sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds yet close
to the deep warm water of the gulf stream so it is not surprising that Baltimore
is one of Irelands top deep sea angling centres with a fleet of well equipped
modern charter boats and an international reputation for reef wreck and shark
fishing.
Cape Clear Island: For those who like a since of
adventure the boat trip to Cape Clear is magnificent with lots of walks on the
island with some of the most unspoilt and spectacular coastal scenery in Europe.
The Irish speaking island of Cape Clear or "Oilean Cleire" the most southerly
tip of the country.
Sherkin Island: The island boasts a bewildering
variety of landscapes panoramic Atlantic views from the hill tops, Fuchsia
scented byways on the western shore. You will also find some of the finest
beaches for miles around.
Lough Ine: This is Ireland's only marine nature
reserve and it is an inland saline lake connected to the sea by rapids. Its a
treasure house of unusual species such as sea urchins and oysters which are
strictly protected and which you will find illustrated in the car park. If you
feel like a challenge climb the wooded hill behind the lake to get an
unsurpassed view of roaring water bay and Carbery hundred isle.
